Intermediate School Students of the Week

Student of the Week - Jaden Dellitt

Jaden Dellitt a sixth grade student from the Mercer County Intermediate School located in Aledo, Illinois is the most recent student to be recognized for his outstanding effort and attitude.  Jaden lives in Aledo with his parents John and Angie along with four siblings; Jacob, Javin, Johna, and new baby sister Jayla.  Jaden is a strong academic student who enjoys playing many different sports and the video game “Modern Warfare III” when he finds the time.

His favorite TV show can be found on the History Channel, “Pawn Stars”.   Jaden’s favorite subject to study while attending M.C.I.S. is math, taught by Ms. McKnight.  His favorite book is any from the Harry Potter Collection.  Jaden’s hero is the centerfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, Jon Jay.   For his favorite meal Jaden enjoys eating a good “Ribeye” Steak.   When Jaden grows up he would like to become a mechanic and work on all types of cars.   A big Congratulations goes out to Jaden from all the MCIS Staff!!!

 

Student of the Week - Cody Lill

Cody Lill, a fifth grader at Mercer County Intermediate School was selected by Mr. McNeil as this week’s Student of the Week.  Cody was nominated due to his organizational skills, academic success, and his respectful nature. He is always willing to participate in class and is very considerate of all of his classmates.
           

Cody resides in Aledo with his mother Skye, stepdad Joe, and sister Mikayla. His also has one cat named Cal.
           

In his spare time, Cody enjoys playing baseball, reading, and playing video games on his Xbox. In school, his favorite subject is Math. He has said that his favorite television show is Adventure Time. Cody stated that he did not have a favorite book, but he really enjoyed reading the Warrior series. His favorite meal is pork chops with stuffing and corn. Cody’s hero is his Mom. When he grows up, Cody would like to be a professional baseball player.   

 

Student of the Week- Gary Patrick

Gary Patrick is Student of the Week for Mercer County Intermediate School. Gary and Aunt Chris Gibbs live outside of New Boston. Gary’s favorite subject is Social Studies. In his spare time, he likes to watch movies. Bambi II is his favorite movie and Scooby Doo  is his favorite book. Gary likes to eat chicken nuggets, cheez-its and drink Coca-Cola. Ms. Sell is his hero because she helps people. When Gary grows up he says, “I’d like to work at the movie theater and help show the movies.”

 

Student of the Week- Cody Hagloch

This week’s Mercer County Intermediate Student of the Week is 5th grader, Cody Hagloch.  A resident of Aledo, Cody lives with his mom, Dennise, his dad, Chris and his cat, Daisy.  Cody was chosen as this week’s student for his excellent work habits and his dedication to his school work.  Cody is described by his teachers as very kind and helpful to all and the type of 5th grader that participates in class, completes his homework, and arrives to class on time.


Cody wants to be a Meteorologist when he is older, so it is very fitting that his favorite subject is science. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, working on homework, playing sports, playing electronics, and fishing with his grandpa.  The Big Nate Series are his favorite books to read and meatballs would be his favorite food.  This awesome fifth grader says that his parents are his heroes because they have taught him great values.

 

Student of the Week-Wyatt Kirkhove

Sixth grader, Wyatt Kirkhove was selected as this week’s Student of the Week.  Wyatt was nominated because he is a good student, who is patient, kind, helpful, responsible and hard working.

Wyatt is the son of Merry-Lynn and Don Kirkhove, from Aledo.  Wyatt has three sisters, Hailey, Hannah, and Chloe.  His pet dog’s name is Myah.

When his assignments are all complete you will catch him reading a good book, his favorite is, The Rangers Apprentice, #9. Science and Math are Wyatt’s favorite subjects.  In his spare time, he likes to hang out with his friends.  His favorite TV channel is ESPN and his favorite food is tacos.

Wyatt’s hero is his Dad.  When Wyatt grows up he aspires to be a basketball player.

 

Student of the Week- Cal Bigham

Cal Bigham, a fifth grader at Mercer County Intermediate School, has been selected as this week’s Student of the Week.  Cal was nominated due to his hard work ethic and his willingness to help others in the classroom.


His parents are Clint and Wendy Bigham of Aledo.  Along with his parents, Cal has a sister, Emi, and a brother, Ben.  Cal is the owner of a Shih Tzu dog named Diogi; a name they thought would be comical.


Cal’s favorite subject in school is science due to his is interest in performing experiments and working with chemicals.  Other interests include playing the piano and reading.  Cal’s favorite book is Fablehaven.  In his spare time Cal enjoys playing outside with his friends, watching Big Bang Theory, and eating steak.
Cal is a huge baseball fan with his hero being Sammy Sosa.  In the future, Cal hopes to be a baseball player himself.

Student of the Week- Baily Taylor

Sixth grader, Baily Taylor was selected by Mrs. Aldinger as this week’s Student of the Week.  Baily was nominated because he is a good student, who is extremely patient and kind.  He is always reading a good book.


Baily is the son of Stacy and Shane Taylor, originally from Silvis.  His pet cat’s name is Stretch.   


Science is Baily’s favorite subject.  In his spare time, he is an avid reader and enjoys playing video games.  His favorite book is Tunnels by Roderick Gordon, and he enjoys watching “Full Metal Alchemist” on television.  His favorite foods are anything cheesy.


Mike Shinoda is his hero because he is part of his favorite band and is a really nice guy.

Student of the Week- Dylan Shepard

Dylan Shepard has been chosen as a fifth grade student of the week at the Mercer County Intermediate School. Dylan is a kind, diligent student who has proven that working hard results in good achievement. Dylan is the son of Lance and Trudi Shepard. He lives in Eliza with his parents and his younger brother, Blake.
           

Dylan’s pet fish, Steve, recently died so he doesn’t have any pets at this time. His favorite subject in school is math because it is the subject that he is “best at.” His favorite food is spaghetti with hamburger and sauce. Dylan enjoys reading books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and in The Bad Kitty series. He likes to watch the television show, Johnny Test.  In his free time, he likes to watch a little television, ride his dirt bike, play basketball and ride bikes.
           

Dylan’s hero is his dad, because he helps him do ‘stuff’ outside, like going for rides together. When he grows up, Dylan would like to be a farmer who grows crops in the fields because he likes to be outside and his dad would be able to teach him about farming.

 

Student of the Week- Hannah DeBlock

Hannah DeBlock, a sixth grader at Mercer County Intermediate School, has been chosen by Ms. McKnight as this week’s student of the week.  Hannah always tries her best at everything she does and is wonderful to have in class.  She is always willing to help others, with a smile on her face.

Hannah is the daughter of Angie and John DeBlock of Aledo.  She has one brother, Jake, and one dog, Millie.  Her hero is her mom.
           

In her spare time she likes to play games on Facebook.  Her favorite subjects in school are PE and Math.  Her favorite book is The Hunger Games and her favorite television show is “The Bachelor.”  She loves to eat teriyaki chicken!  When Hannah grows up, she wants to be a second grade teacher.
