MERCER COUNTY FFA DONATED TO FOOD PANTRY
MERCER COUNTY FFA MEMBERS ADVANCE TO STATE COMPETITION

Sheridan Hank and Anna Wagner of the Mercer County FFA Chapter won  FFA District 1 Proficiency Awards at the District 1 Proficiency Awards held March 4, 2020 at Geneseo High School.  Miss Hank won the area of Beef  Production Entrepreneurship and Miss Wagner in the area of Small Animal Care and Production.  District 1 FFA is the northwestern part of Illinois comprising of FFA Sections 1-5.  In being named the District 1 Proficiency Award winners, Sheridan and Anna are finalists for the FFA State Proficiency Awards competition which will be held on March 21st at the University of Illinois.  Also competing, but not placing, was Evan Kellett - the Section 4 winner in the area of Turfgrass Management

The Mercer County FFA Chapter donated $500 and two tubs of food to the Mercer County food pantry. The money and canned items were from the Leap Day dance held on February 29.

MERCER COUNTY FFA CONDUCT OF MEETINGS TEAM - 3RD PLACE SECTION 4

The Mercer County FFA Conduct of Meetings Parliamentary Procedure team placed 3rd out of the 10 schools in Section 4 at the contest held on February 20 at United High School.  This contest for freshmen has each student serve as a FFA officer, run the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies and conduct a 10 minute meeting.

MERCER COUNTY FFA DONTATES $500 TO EAGLE'S NEST FOR STUDENTS

The Mercer County FFA Chapter made its annual Christmas donation to the Eagle’s Nest Program for Students in Need.  The chapter annually makes a donation to a local charity.  Since 1988, the Aledo now Mercer County FFA has donated over $15000 to charity. 

2019 SECTION 4 FFA FAIR - GRAND CHAMPION STEER

Congratulations to Meg Fowler for showing the Grand Champion Steer at the 2019 Section 4 FFA Fair held at the Roseville Fair Grounds on July 1st and 2nd!!!

91st ILLINOIS FFA STATE CONVENTION 

State Job Interview Leadership Development Event High Individual: Sheridan Hank was recognized for winning the state Job Interview LDE. Participants submit a résumé, complete job applications, and participate in mock interviews and practicums with a panel of possible employers.

SECTION 4 FORESTRY CONTEST

Congratulations to both our Varsity and Novice forestry teams for receiving 3rd place at the Section 4 Forestry Contest. Rebecka Larson placed 6th overall varsity and Trace Seefeld 7th. Kaylee Ortberg placed 5th overall novice and Cody Callahan placed 6th.

Mercer County FFA - Section 4 Crop Judging Contest

The Mercer County FFA Chapter competed at the Section 4 FFA Crop Judging Contest held on November 14, 2019 at West Central High School.  The varsity and novice teams both placed 4th in the 10 schools in Section 4.  FFA members competing at the contest were:
